Things to See and Places to Go for Kids

Ever wondered how TV works or how radio sounds travel? Take a KEDT STATION TOUR. We are always excited to have students visit us and see how a TV and Radio station works!   This is an opportunity for students (ages 6+) to see how some of their favorite shows come to their homes.  KEDT TV picture

KEDT is much more than just a TV station.  We also introduce students to the staff and inner workings of KEDT-FM (90.3 FM).

Important tour information:
*Tours must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance.
* Tours can ONLY be scheduled Tuesday-Thursdays by appointment based on availability.
* Because of limited space, we reserve the right to limit the size of the tour (groups of 20 students grades 1 or higher are the ideal size).

PBS KIDS GO! Workshops now available for all shows.

We are very proud of our PBS KIDS shows that help prepare children to be ready to excel in school. Our PBS KIDS GO! shows are an excellent tool for students in all levels of edcuation. Learn more by visiting the PBS KIDS GO! website.

The Education Department is always ready to visit your organization. We conduct workshops for parents, teachers and students. Each workshop is based on the Ready to Learn model and will include a short video of a PBS show, a reading form an accompanying book and an activity for the participants (time permitting). Everyone will receive materials to extend the learning experience.

SuperFit Kids Logo KEDT SuperFit Kids workshops are now available.

KEDT is participating in the innovative children's Health Initiative, aiming to prevent children from becoming overweight through educational TV and radio using the schools and Internet. Funding for KEDT SuperFit Kids is made possible by a grant from the Coastal Bend Diabetes Initiative.
